Employment Opportunities

Research Assistant Position

A research assistant position is available to join the Neuroregeneration Research Institute (NRI) and their laboratories. The NRI is a dynamic research and training environment dedicated to discovering causes and new treatments of neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s disease and dementias. The research assistant will be an active member of the NRI research team.

  • Coordinates and executes experimental procedures as defined in project meetings with supervision from NRI post-doctoral scientists and principal investigators.

  • Carries out in vitro and in vivo assays and models for Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders.

  • Performs biochemical, molecular, immunocytochemical and histological assays

  • Record data, experimental outcomes and understands basic statistical concepts for needed data compilation.

  • Discusses progress of work regularly with supervisor.

Postdoctoral Reseach Position

A postdoctoral research position is available to join a highly collaborative and multidisciplinary research team focused on studies of neural regeneration, aging, and disease mechanisms in Parkinson's disease and neurodegenerative disorders. This research has high clinical relevance for developing new therapies. The postdoctoral fellow will have simultaneous academic appointments at Harvard Medical School and McLean Hospital. Outstanding candidates should have a therapeutic focus and extensive knowledge in neurobiology and/or clinical neurosciences. Additional preferred qualifications include experience in studies involving the neurobiology of neurodegenerative diseases, in vitro, in vivo and systems biology and experimental practices, modeling of cell biological and aging mechanisms, including relevant biomarkers causing neuronal degeneration. A strong desire for discovering mechanisms and treatments for neurodegenerative diseases in a highly interactive research team environment.
